Uncertain what colorism is? A common definition is “prejudice or discrimination especially within a racial or ethnic group favoring people with lighter skin over those with darker skin.” In this weeks video Trina Jones offers further explanation and illustration.

Jones is a leading expert on racial, socio-economic, and gender inequality, particularly as it pertains to the workplace. She is Jerome M. Culp Professor of Law at Duke University and is globally recognized for her research, writing, and lectures on colorism, intersectionality, and sexual harassment. In this video Jones explains colorism, the phenomenon of prejudice based on skin color within a community, and how it has become a global issue.
