Surviving Asian Hate

A dramatic increase in Asian American hate in 2020 and 2021 has been well documented. Since the beginning of the pandemic, discrimination against Asians in the U.S. has been on the rise. Hateful violence at a criminal level is more likely to be reported than the many ways that Asian Americans continue to be subjected to more subtle forms of hate. Discrimination and angry words related to unjustified blame for Covid have been added to the preexisting racism against Asian Americans. As illustrated in this short video, Asian American are vulnerable as targets of hostility in public spaces.
